Description

Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats are a fun, no-bake dessert perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any occasion. Made with gooey mini marshmallows, colorful Lucky Charms, and crispy Rice Krispies, these treats are easy to make and irresistibly sweet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups Lucky Charms Cereal: adds sweetness and colorful marshmallows
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies Cereal: provides a light, crispy texture
  • 1 (10.5 oz) bag mini marshmallows: binds ingredients together and gives chewiness
  • 5 teaspoons salted butter: adds richness and helps with melting
  • Green gel food coloring (optional): adds festive color for St. Patrick’s Day
  • Extra Lucky Charms marshmallows (optional): for topping and decoration

Instructions

  1. Lightly butter a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat mini marshmallows in 20-second bursts twice until slightly melted.
  3. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt butter in 20-second intervals until nearly melted.
  4. Combine the melted butter and marshmallows. Microwave again for 20 seconds and stir until smooth.
  5. Add green gel food coloring (if using) and stir until evenly mixed.
  6. Stir in Rice Krispies cereal and mix until coated.
  7. Gently fold in Lucky Charms cereal until fully combined.
  8. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly using a buttered spatula.
  9. Top with extra Lucky Charms marshmallows, pressing them gently into the surface.
  10. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set, then cut into 12 squares or 8 larger pieces.

Notes

  • You can skip the green food coloring if you prefer a natural look.
  • Microwave power may vary, so adjust heating times as needed.
  • Use fresh marshmallows for best results — older ones may not melt smoothly.
  • Butter your spatula or hands to prevent sticking while pressing the mixture into the pan.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
