Description

Melted Snowman Biscuits are a fun and festive holiday treat that combines a simple biscuit base with a whimsical melted snowman design. These cookies are perfect for holiday parties, baking with kids, or as a creative Christmas treat. The snowy look comes from icing sugar, while the snowman’s face is made from marshmallows and icing pens. It’s a great way to add a personal touch to your holiday baking!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 ½ cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup icing sugar (for decorating)
  • Marshmallows, mini M&Ms, and icing pens (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, caster sugar, eggs, and vanilla essence until well combined.
  2. Stir in plain flour and baking powder until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels soft, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm it up.
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line two baking trays with baking paper.
  4. Roll out dough to about ½ cm thick on a floured surface. Use a glass or cookie cutter to cut out circles (around 9 cm in diameter).
  5. Place the biscuit circles on the prepared trays and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them cool completely.
  6. Decorate by using icing pens to draw faces on the marshmallows (eyes, mouth, and nose). Place the marshmallow snowman heads onto the cooled biscuits.
  7. Mix icing sugar with water to create a runny icing. Spread it onto the biscuits to create the melted snowman effect.
  8. Stick mini M&Ms as buttons onto each snowman. Once the icing sets, use the black icing pen to draw the snowman’s arms.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it feels too soft to handle.
  • Store the biscuits in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Feel free to add extra decorations like scarves or hats using icing or candies.
