Description

Mummy Meatballs are a fun and easy Halloween appetizer made with vegetarian meatballs wrapped in flaky crescent dough to create a spooky mummy design. Finished with marinara sauce eyes, these festive bite-sized treats are perfect for Halloween parties, family dinners, and seasonal gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 frozen vegetarian meatballs: the savory and hearty center of the mummy appetizers
  • 1 package crescent roll dough: creates the golden, flaky mummy bandages
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce: used for dipping and creating the mummy eyes
  • Edible candy eyes (optional): adds extra Halloween decoration
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper: prevents sticking during baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray.
  2. Place the frozen vegetarian meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and allow them to thaw slightly for easier wrapping.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and gently press the seams together to create a smooth sheet.
  4. Cut the dough into thin strips to create the mummy wrapping.
  5. Wrap each meatball with dough strips, leaving a small uncovered area for the mummy face.
  6. Arrange the wrapped meatballs on the baking sheet with space between each piece.
  7. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Allow the mummy meatballs to cool slightly, then add small dots of marinara sauce or candy eyes to create the faces.
  9. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Use thin dough strips to create a more realistic mummy appearance and allow even baking.
  • Do not completely cover the meatballs with dough so there is space for the mummy eyes.
  • For a vegan version, use vegan meatballs and vegan-friendly crescent dough.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer to keep the dough crispy.
