Description

No Bake Cake Batter Truffles are a quick, fun, and festive dessert made without turning on the oven. These bite-sized treats feature a creamy cake batter dough dipped in vanilla coating and topped with colorful sprinkles. Perfect for parties, holidays, or gifting, they deliver nostalgic flavor and a satisfying texture in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour: Provides structure and helps form the dough
  • 1 cup yellow cake mix: Adds rich cake batter flavor
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened: Binds ingredients and adds creaminess
  • 1/2 cup white sugar: Sweetens the dough
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Enhances cake flavor
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt: Balances sweetness
  • 3–4 tablespoons milk: Adjusts dough consistency
  • 2 tablespoons sprinkles: Adds color and fun texture
  • 16 oz (8 squares) almond bark or vanilla-flavored coating: Used for coating truffles
  • Extra sprinkles: For decorating coated truffles
  • Pop sticks (optional): For dipping and serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar together until well combined using an electric mixer.
  2. Add in the yellow cake mix, flour, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Gradually add 3 to 4 tablespoons of milk to reach a dough-like consistency.
  4. Fold in the sprinkles gently by hand.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.
  7. Meanwhile, melt almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each.
  8. Using a pop stick or fork, dip each chilled dough ball into the melted coating, twirling to remove excess.
  9. Place coated truffles back on the baking sheet and immediately top with extra sprinkles.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator until coating is fully set. Serve or store as desired.

Notes

  • Heat-treat the flour and cake mix by baking at 350°F for 5 minutes for food safety.
  • Use different cake mix flavors like funfetti or red velvet for variety.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
  • Freeze dough balls before coating for up to 1 month.
