Description

Patriotic Cake Mix M&M Cookies are soft, chewy, festive cookies made with white cake mix, patriotic M&Ms, white chocolate chips, and colorful sprinkles. Perfect for Fourth of July parties, Memorial Day celebrations, summer BBQs, and patriotic gatherings, these easy cookies come together quickly with minimal ingredients while delivering a bakery-style texture and sweet vanilla flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup patriotic red, white, and blue M&Ms, divided
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, and melted butter until a thick dough forms.
  3. Fold in 3/4 cup of M&Ms, 1/3 cup white chocolate chips, and 1/4 cup sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the cookie dough for 15 minutes to make it easier to handle.
  5. Use a large cookie scoop or 1/4 cup measuring cup to portion the dough into balls. Flatten each dough ball to about 1/2-inch thick.
  6. Arrange 5 cookies per baking sheet, leaving room for spreading during baking.
  7. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Do not overbake.
  8. Immediately top the warm cookies with extra white chocolate chips and M&Ms.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. Melt the remaining white chocolate chips in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  11. Dip half of each cooled cookie into the melted white chocolate and decorate with remaining patriotic sprinkles.
  12. Allow the chocolate to fully set before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much while baking.
  • Use room temperature eggs for smoother cookie dough.
  • Do not overbake the cookies to keep them soft and chewy.
  • You can substitute yellow cake mix or chocolate cake mix for different flavor variations.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.
  • Freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container.
