Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, peanut butter, maple syrup (or honey), and mini chocolate chips. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and a thick, sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, portion the mixture and roll it between your hands into evenly sized balls.
- Place the peanut butter oat balls on a parchment-lined tray or plate.
- Transfer the balls to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 6 months.
Notes
- Stir natural peanut butter well before using.
- If the mixture is too dry, add a little more peanut butter or maple syrup.
- If the mixture is too sticky, mix in additional rolled oats.
- Chilling the mixture before rolling makes shaping much easier.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Freeze for up to 6 months in an airtight container.
- Customize with chia seeds, flaxseed, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or dried fruit.
