Description

Pumpkin Magic Bars are a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of pumpkin pie with the richness of butterscotch chips, toffee, and pecans. This easy-to-make, fall-inspired treat is perfect for any seasonal gathering and is sure to impress friends and family alike. The bars are layered with a buttery crust, spiced pumpkin filling, and topped with a sweet, gooey condensed milk glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin pie filling
  • 11 ounces butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 11×7-inch baking dish with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the flour, pumpkin pie spice, and salt, mixing until combined. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Spread the pumpkin pie filling evenly over the baked crust.
  5. Sprinkle the butterscotch chips, toffee bits, and chopped pecans on top of the pumpkin layer.
  6. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the entire dish, covering all areas.
  7. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are set. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing into bars. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger spice flavor, feel free to add extra cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to the filling.
  • For a gluten-free version, swap the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Ensure the bars cool completely before refrigerating to maintain the right texture.
