Description
This homemade pumpkin syrup recipe is a perfect blend of fall flavors, bringing the sweetness of pumpkin puree and warm spices together in a delicious syrup. Ideal for drizzling over pancakes, mixing into coffee, or using as a sweetener for desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/3 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and water. Stir well until fully mixed.
- Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The syrup should thicken and coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before transferring to a mason jar or sealable container for storage.
- Once cooled completely, store the syrup in the refrigerator.
- Use the syrup in lattes, over pancakes, or in your favorite fall desserts.
Notes
- If you prefer a thicker syrup, let it simmer a little longer.
- Stir frequently to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
- Store the syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.
