Description
Raspberry Pretzel Salad is a classic layered dessert featuring a crunchy buttery pretzel crust, a rich and creamy cream cheese filling, and a refreshing raspberry gelatin topping loaded with raspberries. This sweet and salty dessert is perfect for holidays, potlucks, summer gatherings, and family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
- 2 (3-ounce) boxes raspberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 12 ounces frozen raspberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush the pretzels into coarse crumbs and combine them with 3 tablespoons sugar and melted butter.
- Press the pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow the crust to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
- Spread the creamy filling evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, making sure to seal the edges completely. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the raspberry gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Add the frozen raspberries to the gelatin mixture and stir gently.
- Allow the raspberry mixture to cool slightly, then carefully pour it over the chilled cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate the dessert for 2 to 3 hours, or until the gelatin layer is fully set.
- Slice into squares and serve chilled.
Notes
- Allow the crust to cool completely before adding the filling to prevent melting.
- Spread the cream cheese layer fully to the edges to keep the gelatin layer from soaking into the crust.
- Frozen raspberries help cool the gelatin faster and add extra texture.
- For best texture, serve within 24 to 48 hours.
- You can substitute strawberries or mixed berries for a flavor variation.
