- 1 lb (454g) fresh strawberries, washed and quartered
- 1 lb (454g) fresh blueberries, washed
- 1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice (optional, for preventing apple browning)
- 1 cup (240ml) water (optional, for lemon water bath)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove the stems, and cut them into quarters. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
- Rinse the blueberries and drain well. Add them to the bowl with the strawberries and gently toss to combine.
- Wash the apple and slice it into thin rounds. Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut star shapes from the apple slices.
- If preparing ahead, soak the apple stars in a mixture of 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup water for 2 to 3 minutes, then drain.
- Add the apple stars to the bowl with the strawberries and blueberries.
- Gently toss all ingredients together, being careful not to crush the fruit.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve chilled and enjoy.
