Description

Red White & Blue Tortilla Cups are festive individual desserts featuring crispy cinnamon-sugar tortilla shells filled with a light cream cheese and whipped topping mixture, then topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Perfect for Fourth of July celebrations, Memorial Day gatherings, summer parties, and patriotic events.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 (6-inch) flour tortillas
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray, as needed
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups whipped topping or fresh whipped cream
  • 1 package strawberries, washed and halved (about 1 pound)
  • 1 cup blueberries, washed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon until evenly mixed.
  3. Lightly coat one side of each tortilla with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  4. Turn the tortillas over, spray the other side, and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  5. Cut each tortilla into 4 equal wedges.
  6. Place one tortilla wedge into a muffin cup with the rounded edge along the bottom. Add a second wedge, overlapping slightly, to form a cup shape.
  7. Repeat with the remaining tortilla wedges until all muffin cups are filled.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes or until crisp and lightly golden brown.
  9. Allow the tortilla cups to cool completely in the muffin pan.
  10. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  11. Gently fold in the whipped topping or fresh whipped cream until fully combined.
  12. Carefully remove the cooled tortilla cups from the pan.
  13. Spoon or pipe about 3 tablespoons of filling into each tortilla cup.
  14. Top each cup with one strawberry half and a few blueberries.
  15. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Allow the tortilla cups to cool completely before filling to maintain crispness.
  • Fresh whipped cream can be substituted for whipped topping.
  • For the best texture, assemble within a few hours of serving.
  • Store assembled cups in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • You can drizzle melted white chocolate, red candy melts, or blue candy melts over the cups for a festive decoration.
  • Fresh raspberries or blackberries can be used alongside the strawberries and blueberries.
