- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 can (5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 8 oz (1 cup) sour cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Bring 1 1/2 cups water or chicken broth to a boil in a saucepan, then stir in the stuffing mix, remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and celery for 5–7 minutes until softened.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, and sour cream until smooth.
- Spread the shredded rotisserie chicken evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the sautéed onion and celery over the chicken and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the soup mixture evenly over the chicken and vegetables.
- Top with the prepared stuffing, spreading it evenly across the dish.
- Bake for 60 minutes until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use chicken broth instead of water for a richer flavor.
- Do not overpack the stuffing to keep it light and fluffy.
- Add extra broth if you prefer a more moist casserole.
