Description

This creamy baked Spinach Dip is a rich and cheesy appetizer made with sour cream, cream cheese, spinach, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan. Perfect for parties, holidays, or game nights, it delivers a smooth, savory flavor and warm, bubbly texture that pairs beautifully with bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 10 ounces frozen spinach, thawed, rinsed, and thoroughly drained
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup sour cream and 8 ounces softened cream cheese. Mix until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the 10 ounces drained spinach, 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, 1 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon dried minced onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes if using. Stir until evenly combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  5. Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese is fully melted.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving warm with bread, crackers, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Thoroughly squeeze excess moisture from the spinach to prevent a watery dip.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melting texture.
  • To make ahead, assemble the dip and refrigerate up to 3 days before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing is not recommended as dairy ingredients may separate and become grainy.
