Description

Strawberry Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, with fresh strawberries, orange liqueur, and mascarpone cream layered between crispy ladyfingers. This fruity version offers a light, yet indulgent treat, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 1 Tbsp orange juice
  • 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup strawberry preserves
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1⅓ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 16 oz. mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • ½ Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 24 crispy ladyfingers (Savoiardi)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Blend half of the strawberry mixture with strawberry preserves in a food processor until smooth. Return to the bowl with the remaining sliced strawberries and stir well.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat sugar and egg yolks with an electric mixer for 4-5 minutes until pale and fluffy.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in mascarpone, orange zest, and vanilla extract, then gently combine with the egg yolk mixture.
  5. Spread ⅔ cup of the strawberry puree in the bottom of an 8×8-inch pan. Arrange 8 ladyfingers in a single layer, flipping them to coat with puree. Top with 1 cup of the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining strawberry puree, ladyfingers, and mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
  8. Before serving, garnish with fresh strawberry slices on top.

Notes

  • For best results, refrigerate the tiramisu overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the ladyfingers to absorb the liquid.
  • Use dry, crisp ladyfingers (Savoiardi) for optimal texture.
  • If you prefer a different fruit, raspberries or blueberries can be used as a substitute.
  • For a non-alcoholic option, you can replace orange liqueur with more orange juice or orange extract.
