Description
Strawberry Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, with fresh strawberries, orange liqueur, and mascarpone cream layered between crispy ladyfingers. This fruity version offers a light, yet indulgent treat, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 Tbsp orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
- 1 Tbsp orange juice
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- ¼ cup strawberry preserves
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1⅓ cups heavy whipping cream
- 16 oz. mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- ½ Tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 24 crispy ladyfingers (Savoiardi)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes.
- Blend half of the strawberry mixture with strawberry preserves in a food processor until smooth. Return to the bowl with the remaining sliced strawberries and stir well.
- In a separate bowl, beat sugar and egg yolks with an electric mixer for 4-5 minutes until pale and fluffy.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in mascarpone, orange zest, and vanilla extract, then gently combine with the egg yolk mixture.
- Spread ⅔ cup of the strawberry puree in the bottom of an 8×8-inch pan. Arrange 8 ladyfingers in a single layer, flipping them to coat with puree. Top with 1 cup of the mascarpone mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining strawberry puree, ladyfingers, and mascarpone mixture.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh strawberry slices on top.
Notes
- For best results, refrigerate the tiramisu overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the ladyfingers to absorb the liquid.
- Use dry, crisp ladyfingers (Savoiardi) for optimal texture.
- If you prefer a different fruit, raspberries or blueberries can be used as a substitute.
- For a non-alcoholic option, you can replace orange liqueur with more orange juice or orange extract.
