Description

Tandoori Chicken Tikka Kebab Skewers are a flavorful Indian dish made by marinating chicken in a mixture of yogurt and spices, then grilling or baking to perfection. These skewers are aromatic, smoky, and tender, perfect for any occasion and served with flatbreads or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g Chicken Breast
  • 35g Ginger (Thumb-sized piece)
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 15g Fresh Coriander
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking Oil
  • 50g Yoghurt
  • Freshly chopped coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the coriander and mash the garlic into a paste.
  2. Grate the ginger and combine with all other marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the chicken for at least 4 hours (overnight for best results).
  5. If using bamboo skewers, soak them for 30 minutes before use.
  6. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers.
  7. Preheat the grill or oven to the highest setting and cook the kebabs for 15-18 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (73°C) before serving.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken for at least 4 hours, or up to 24 hours, for best flavor and tenderness.
  • For extra crispy edges, consider using a blow torch to finish the kebabs after grilling.
  • Substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts for a richer flavor.
  • These kebabs can also be cooked in an air fryer or on a BBQ grill.
