Description

This Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board is a festive and fun appetizer that combines a variety of cheeses, meats, nuts, and fruits, all arranged creatively to resemble a Thanksgiving turkey. It’s easy to assemble and a perfect way to start your holiday meal. No cooking involved—just prepping and arranging for a show-stopping appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pear, fresh
  • Edible candy eyes
  • Assorted cheeses (cheddar, gouda, monterey jack, etc.)
  • 4 slices deli turkey
  • 4 slices deli ham
  • Assorted crackers
  • Roasted almonds
  • Roasted pistachios

Instructions

  1. Cut the pear in half vertically. Use one half as the turkey’s body and place it flat side down on your serving platter.
  2. Attach the edible candy eyes to the top of the pear to form the turkey’s face.
  3. Cut a small triangle of cheese for the turkey’s beak and create small cheese legs. Secure these with a dab of peanut butter if necessary.
  4. Arrange crackers around the pear half to resemble the turkey’s feathers.
  5. Slice or cube your cheeses and arrange them in a fan pattern around the crackers.
  6. Layer the sliced turkey and ham around the cheese, continuing the fan shape.
  7. Add roasted almonds and pistachios, filling in the gaps and enhancing the visual appeal.
  8. Ensure the pear remains clearly visible as the turkey’s body, while the other ingredients form a stunning spread of feathers.
  9. Cover the board and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

Notes

  • Make it ahead: You can prepare your Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board up to a day in advance. Just cover it and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
  • Don’t overcrowd: While it’s tempting to add more ingredients, ensure there’s enough space for each item to be visible and easy to grab.
  • Keep it cool: If you’re transporting the board, keep it cool using ice packs or a cooler to maintain freshness.
  • Serve with small utensils: Provide small tongs or forks for guests to easily pick up items without touching the board.
