Description

Turkey Lettuce Wraps are a quick, healthy, and flavorful low-carb meal made with seasoned ground turkey, fresh vegetables, and savory Asian-inspired sauce served in crisp butter lettuce leaves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium zucchini, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 12 butter lettuce leaves
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for about 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook for 7โ€“8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in chopped red bell pepper and zucchini. Cook for 5 minutes until vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and cook for another 2โ€“3 minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in chopped green onions.
  6. Spoon the turkey mixture into clean butter lettuce leaves.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use butter lettuce for best texture and flexibility.
  • Drain excess liquid from turkey if needed to avoid soggy wraps.
  • Adjust spice level by increasing or omitting red pepper flakes.
  • Store filling separately in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat filling gently before serving for best flavor.
