Description

These Valentine’s Day Brownies are ultra-fudgy, rich, and loaded with chocolate chips and festive red and pink M&M’s. Perfect for any chocolate lover, this quick and easy dessert is great for Valentine’s celebrations, gifting, or satisfying a sweet craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/2 cup (45g) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (95g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup M&M’s (Valentine’s themed – red and pink)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang. If using foil, spray well with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until fully combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the thick batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle M&M’s evenly over the top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges start to pull away and the center is set.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Then lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
