These Valentine’s Day Brownies are ultra-fudgy, rich, and loaded with chocolate chips and festive red and pink M&M’s. Perfect for any chocolate lover, this quick and easy dessert is great for Valentine’s celebrations, gifting, or satisfying a sweet craving.

- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1/2 cup (45g) cocoa powder, sifted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (95g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup M&M’s (Valentine’s themed – red and pink)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang. If using foil, spray well with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until fully combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the thick batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle M&M’s evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges start to pull away and the center is set.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Then lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
Notes
- For best results, allow brownies to cool completely before slicing.
- To make these brownies gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Brownies can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
