Ingredients
Scale
- 18 ounces white almond bark
- 5 ounces chow mein noodles (approximately 3 cups)
- 3/4 cup roasted and salted peanuts
- 4 tablespoons colorful nonpareil sprinkles
Instructions
- Add the white almond bark to a large microwave-safe mixing bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely melted and smooth.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper and set aside.
- Add the chow mein noodles and roasted salted peanuts to the melted almond bark. Gently stir until all the ingredients are evenly coated.
- Scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of the mixture at a time and drop onto the prepared baking sheet to form small clusters.
- Before the haystacks harden, sprinkle approximately 1/2 teaspoon of colorful nonpareils over each cluster.
- Allow the White Chocolate Haystacks to cool completely and harden before removing them from the paper and serving.
Notes
- Melt the almond bark in 30-second intervals and stir between each interval to prevent scorching.
- Stir the chow mein noodles gently to avoid breaking them into too many small pieces.
- If the mixture becomes too firm while shaping the clusters, microwave it for another 15 to 30 seconds and stir.
- Use parchment paper or wax paper to prevent the haystacks from sticking to the baking sheet.
- Add the sprinkles before the chocolate coating hardens so they stick properly.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Potato sticks or pretzels can replace chow mein noodles, and other roasted salted nuts can replace peanuts.
